Instrument Training

EFT Is Colorado’s #1 Accelerated Instrument Flight Training Facility.

One On One With Professional Instrument Instructors.

We Offer Full Credit For Previous Instrument Training!

Our instrument course is designed so that you will be ready to take your instrument rating check ride in most cases within 10 days or less. Unlike many flight schools which offer flight lessons lasting one or two hours a day which drags out your certification for months, we at EFT teach a full day of training everyday until you are finished. Our proven program and step ladder approach differentiates us from our competition. The complete curriculum is yours free with the purchase of your training. You will spend less time and money.

Your training consists of three phases: (1) Ground School, (2) Simulator, and (3) Flight Training.

Ground School: Our experienced Instrument Instructors will conduct the Ground School. Their job is to train you beyond the minimum requirements and create a real understanding of Instrument Flying. Each day is filled procedures and EFT recommendations.

Simulators. We have four full sized, FAA approved AST-300 simulators. These simulators are equipped with color visual displays, and position plotters. Your training will include unlimited use of the simulators with an instructor (all simulator time is logged and counts toward your total flight time). All of the airports and approaches that we will be flying are practiced in the simulator.

Flight Training. Use our aircraft or yours. You will fly out of the Centennial Airport (KAPA), which has a 24-hour control tower and is under the Class B airspace of KDEN. KAPA is an airport where they go by the book. It is not difficult to do it the right way once you know the book. If you need help in tower communications we will work at making you into an expert by the time you finish the course. You will be able to fly into just about any airport with ease.  Training at KAPA and other nearby airports will include ILS, NDB, VOR, GPS, and ASR approaches.

Instructors: The FAA does not require a Certified Instrument Instructor to have any actual IFR experience! We do!! The average EFT Instructor has thousands of hours of actual IFR time logged and is able to teach from his own knowledge and experience. There are no beginner instructors at Executive Flight Training.
